Junior Media Planner/Buyer

We’re the lucky ones who get to spend millions of dollars for a 30-second Super Bowl commercial. We’re stewards of our clients’ budgets and spend those dollars wisely and effectively. It might seem like magic (OK, it is), but we seem to know what people are watching when they’re home and listening to on their way home—and we know all about that billboard on their way home from work, too. We buy the right media for the right audience. You might just call us expert negotiators. Or media wizards. That kid in your fifth-grade class who loved math and charts and everything nerdy? That’s you now. And you love it.

    Skills required:
  • At least 2-4 years media buying and planning and/or agency experience
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a concentration in advertising, marketing, business administration or communications
  • A documented track record of success in a full-service agency environment
  • A demonstrated ability to implement integrated media plans that deliver results
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (advanced handle of Excel)
  • Charting, dashboard development, data mining and analytics
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, comfortable working with numbers
  • Detail oriented with exceptional critical thinking and problem solving abilities
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation delivery and development skills
  • Energetic and willing to learn
  • Ability to remain upbeat and optimistic when dealing with challenging situations
  • Background and understanding of marketing and advertising principles and theories
  • Experience with media- and trend-related research, buying software, third-party tracking software and paid search strategy and implementation is a plus
    Primary responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain client and vendor relationship
  • Assist in the development and delivery of strong presentation to clients
  • Analyze media options to recommend how to best allocate the advertising budget
  • Study demographic data and consumer profiles to identify desired target audiences for specific media vehicles, including lifestyles and psychographics
  • Work on a number of accounts at the same time, often juggling various projects with deadlines to meet; must possess excellent multi-tasking skills
  • Negotiate aggressively with media vendors to obtain the best rates and added value
  • Work with internal teams to solve problems (billing discrepancies, traffic problems, contracts, make-goods, etc.)
  • Assist in creation of media plans and maintain them throughout the year
  • Track media buys, monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of campaigns and provide clients with detailed tracking reports
  • Optimize digital campaigns on an ongoing basis
  • IOs, invoicing, estimates and billing
